CRUISER- Usually includes a V-twin, full view engine, swept-back and/or high handlebars, with forward-set foot pegs and a stepped seat for two (e.g., Harley-Davidson FX models, Honda Shadow and Yamaha V-Star).
LIMITED PRODUCTION CRUISER
Incorporates characteristics similar to those in the Cruiser Category, but is designed and built by small manufacturers on a limited basis. Many are hand-built, built to order and /or highly customized (e.g., Titan Gecko, American Ironhorse Bandit). Physical damage coverage is available on most Limited Production Cruisers
Street Sport- Sporty but less aerodynamic than High Performance (e.g., Buell Blast, Aprilla Falco SL 1000, Ducati 748 Monster).
High Peformance- A motorcycle which incorporates racing technology with aerodynamic styling (e.g., Kawasaki Ninja, Suzuki Katana, Ducati 996 Supersport, Yamaha YZFR1).
Touring- Uses large fairings, luggage compartments, radio systems, etc., to increase rider comfort and load capacity (e.g., Honda Goldwing, Yamaha Royal Star, Kawasaki Voyager).
Sport Touring- Combines sporty/aerodynamic sytling with long distance touring features (e.g., Honda ST1100, Motto Guzzi 1000s, Triumph Trophy).
Regular- A basic motorcylce that usually features upright seating for 1 or 2 passengers. This is a catchall category for all motorcycles that do not fall into other classes. Dirt bikes and motocross bikes are included in this category.
Moped- A lightweight motorized bike that can be pedaled as well as driven by low-powered gasoline engine.
All Terrain Vehicle ATV- 3-,4-, or 6- wheeled vehicles equipped with an engine and with completely open air seating, a handlebar type steering device, and designed for off-road use (e.g. Honda rancher, Suzukin Visnon 500, Polaris Sportsman)
